Rev. Dr. Darold A. Ingram, Jr. is not just a pastor; he’s a dynamic force of inspiration and transformation as the senior pastor of the Mount Hermon Baptist Church (MHBC) in Avondale, LA. As the eighth shepherd in the church’s proud 75-year legacy, Dr. Ingram embodies courage, vision, and an unshakeable commitment to serving both Christ and the community. A proud alumnus of Bethune-Cookman University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, he has relentlessly pursued knowledge and spiritual enrichment. His theological journey has taken him from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to earning multiple advanced degrees, including a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership from the Rawlings School of Divinity, and he’s currently on the path to a Ph.D. in Organization and Management Leadership at Liberty University.Under Dr. Ingram’s electrifying leadership, MHBC has experienced unprecedented growth, expanding from 250 to a thriving 700 members, while amplifying its online presence and launching 22 active ministries. His dedication to the next generation is exemplified by the construction of a dedicated facility for youth and outreach, ensuring that the church’s mission resonates with all ages. Dr. Ingram’s accomplishments don’t stop there; thanks to his unwavering faith and strategic leadership, all church properties have been fully paid off—a testament to his vision and God’s grace.

 

Regarded as a rising star among his peers, Dr. Ingram has graced numerous platforms across the nation, spreading the transformative message of Jesus Christ with charisma and insight. His energy as a preacher, revivalist, and lecturer ignites hearts and empowers individuals, making him a sought-after voice in both the church and the broader community.A true servant of humanity, Dr. Ingram’s heart beats for those who feel overlooked or marginalized. As a chaplain for the New Orleans division of the FBI Coalition, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Louisiana Department of Corrections, he has walked alongside grieving families, conducted revivals in some of the country’s largest prisons, and led death-row inmates to Christ. Dr. Ingram’s commitment to community development shines through his role as President of the Mount Hermon Community Development Outreach Organization (MHCDOO). Here, he has spearheaded initiatives that have transformed lives through literacy programs, economic empowerment courses, and a partnership with the USDA to establish a “Holy Grocery Store” that feeds thousands each month.

 

Since taking the helm, he has secured over three million dollars in funding to uplift low-income areas, all for the glory of God.Beyond his pastoral duties, Dr. Ingram is an active member of the NAACP, championing justice for Black and Brown communities, and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he previously served on the National Chaplain’s Committee. He hails from a lineage of preachers, being the third generation in his family, and balances his ministry with personal pursuits, such as reading, golfing, and honing his chess skills. Married to the lovely Jocelyn Bianca Gray, they are proud parents of their son, Darold Ingram III, affectionately known as “3D.” With a heart that beats for the community and a vision that inspires hope, Rev. Dr. Darold A. Ingram, Jr. is truly a beacon of light, guiding others to their destiny in Christ.
